davevo
Hi im new here. Have three pc's running XP and ME, and would like to put a linnux box in the loft. Put all my music and videos on it, and stream them to my other PC's. I have got a copy of FEDORA core 1. would appreciate any help. Would also then be able to place music and video onto my archos 340 portable, as and when needed.

+Dick Montage Subscriber² Posted February 24, 2004 Subscriber² Share Posted February 24, 2004 I would tend to create the shares, and use some kind of server software (Samba?) to allow streaming of the media.
Gism0
you can use samba to share your files :) i'm currently writing a php mp3/video browser so i wont need to use samba at all, but its very early in development :)
kemical
there are several php mp3 software that is web based, just install apache, php, and i think one is called phpjuke or something i can't remember :\ but that will allow you to keep all mp3s on one server and let authorized users login and stream from it
