Elliott
Sounds good. Max it up with RAM though. You'll probably need it for a smoother OS X experience with a G3.
x2z
Well I have a guy on eBay holding me an iBook that is a G3 @ 700MHz with 384 Megs of RAM and a 20Gig hard drive with panther on it and airport for $750, would I be better to get that or the 800 with 128megs of ram? x2z
The guy said that he had the unit in at apple being repaired. If I can get some more information on a Powermac G4 from someone else on eBay I may buy it instead, even though I need a notebook. =x
aaron901
i'd strongly suggest you to go with the G4 iBook. a new one costs only $1099, look around you might be able to get one for $850 or so. it's G4, and it's got DDR RAM.. that makes OSX much more enjoyable.

Timan Veteran Posted February 25, 2004 Veteran Share Posted February 25, 2004 Might be safe to wait? Save up you never know you could hit a boom of $ and then be able to afford the Powerbooks. It is hard but in the end waiting could and mostly always is worth it :) Check out Apple's refurbs.
