Buying an iBook

Well finally the day has come to where I have decided to purchase an iBook. I have found a cheap g3 800mhz with 128mb ram and a 30gb hd for $695 =) It's used but oh well... I can't afford a new one right now :p any thing i should know before i get it? ill be ordering in 2 weeks

Well I have a guy on eBay holding me an iBook that is a G3 @ 700MHz with 384 Megs of RAM and a 20Gig hard drive with panther on it and airport for $750, would I be better to get that or the 800 with 128megs of ram?

The guy said that he had the unit in at apple being repaired. If I can get some more information on a Powermac G4 from someone else on eBay I may buy it instead, even though I need a notebook. =x

i'd strongly suggest you to go with the G4 iBook. a new one costs only $1099, look around you might be able to get one for $850 or so. it's G4, and it's got DDR RAM.. that makes OSX much more enjoyable. :yes:

Might be safe to wait? Save up you never know you could hit a boom of $ and then be able to afford the Powerbooks.

It is hard but in the end waiting could and mostly always is worth it :)
