Mac Keyboard on PC?

Recommended Posts

Weird, I thought for sure a MAC keyboard would work on a Gateway PC w/ XP and USB 2.0. Am I crazy or what?

Standard keyboard w/ audio and cd eject controls.

For what it's worth, tried posting this in the hardware help section for MAC, but received an error message that I don't have the rights.

That's funny. My black apple pro keyboard worked fine on my XP PC when I had it a while back. The volume keys worked and if you ran a program called Applekeys, you could use the F13 key as a PRNT SCRN key.

Interesting. I thought about this too. But how can you reassign the apple key (to use it as a windows key)?

That's done automatically. Conversely, a PC USB keyboard will have the Windows Key mapped as the Apple key.

WindowsUpdates, under the XP section there's an update for USB. Ran that, rebooted, unplugged the keyboard, plugged it back in, life is good.

Thanks to all those who replied!
