Callaway
Weird, I thought for sure a MAC keyboard would work on a Gateway PC w/ XP and USB 2.0. Am I crazy or what? Standard keyboard w/ audio and cd eject controls. For what it's worth, tried posting this in the hardware help section for MAC, but received an error message that I don't have the rights. +Dick Montage Subscriber² Posted February 25, 2004 Subscriber² Share Posted February 25, 2004 Should work fine, usb connection is universal. In fact, I have seen a setup with one on a Shuttle PC
aristotle-dude
That's funny. My black apple pro keyboard worked fine on my XP PC when I had it a while back. The volume keys worked and if you ran a program called Applekeys, you could use the F13 key as a PRNT SCRN key.
BTallack
I've used a Mac keyboard on my PC before. It worked fine. Just plug and play.
eversor
Interesting. I thought about this too. But how can you reassign the apple key (to use it as a windows key)?
aristotle-dude
Interesting. I thought about this too. But how can you reassign the apple key (to use it as a windows key)? That's done automatically. Conversely, a PC USB keyboard will have the Windows Key mapped as the Apple key.
Callaway
WindowsUpdates, under the XP section there's an update for USB. Ran that, rebooted, unplugged the keyboard, plugged it back in, life is good. Thanks to all those who replied!
