Programs that annoyingly take over when opening

I’ll try to ask this as plainly as possible. Typically, in a multi monitor world, when the computer starts up or, when opening an app then going back to the task at hand, such as email, when the new app opens windows automatically switches to that program while mid type and interrupts what I was doing. Is there a way to force windows to remain in the active app and open everything else in the background? Asking for a friend

All depends on what's launching but you could use a .bat or cmd script to launch programs in silent mode so they don't steal focus

Could give PowerToys a spin. Haven't tried this particular function myself just know of its existence, I'm remote today so can't tell for sure if it'll prevent focus theft. Edit: Just tried it in a VM, set a script to launch my browser after 5 seconds while typing in another window, didn't steal focus, so yea might want to try PowerToys.
