Si Veteran Posted March 1, 2004 Veteran Share Posted March 1, 2004 I've gotten a little more adventurous with the ibook now, I want to install Gentoo on it :) However after downloading the 2 g4-ppc ISOs and following the install guide I cannot get the system to boot. I get the yaboot boot menu and OS X is still intact, however Gentoo refuses to boot. Does anyone know of a Mac-specific *detailed* install guide for Gentoo? I realise that now Gentoo 2004 is out I should wait until the new ppc GRC ISOs are out but I thought a guide would make interesting reading until then :geek:

STV
no flames, but no OS is "near perfect". but as I am a windows xp user, i must admit the beauty of the hardware and GUI. STV

The install is basically the same for any machine except for a few programs and of course the flags in the make.conf.
