I think you're at the point where you borked things beyond repair.

You may be able to fart about in single user mode, but I'm not familar enough with netinfo manager (especially the command line) and the OS X login process to offer any significant advice.

If any non-admin user could create admin accounts (which can sudo to become root) there would be a fairly large security issue so I'm reasonably sure OS X actively takes steps to prevent you from doing this.

A backup + reinstall (the one that preserves accounts etc) might work or an archive and install if you're more interested in doing things that way. Those may let you create a new account with admin privs during the first-book setup steps where you enter your name, email setup, get online, etc.

I somehow fixed this. I think it allowed me to start up as Root even though it wasn't enabled (or it let me enable it). I then just changed the permissions. I can't remember all the details, but it took me a bit to figure out. :p

fixed it! not sure how (was just messing around)... but i think this is what i did, put panther install disc in to change password (think it was root), then logged in as root, and changed my account to admin, now everythings back to normal. i think netinfo still has some probs with me changing short name, but im just gonna leave it, think thats ok?

That's how I did it! Yea, I was messing around with NetInfo and deleted my only admin. :p
