How To Get Lint and Stuff Off of Fleece?

Recommended Posts

I have a fleece sweater that attracks lint, hair, and other random particles like crazy. The whole thing is packed with white particles everywhere. I tried using a lint roller but it does nothing for all the lint. The lint seems stuck onto the sweater, and the only way I can get it off is to hand pick them... but there's like 5 Million. I tried using static guard to get rid of any static electricity, but I still can't get rid of the crap stuck on my sweater. Any ideas?

Thanks.

clean out your lint trap b4 drying your clothes. For better results, wash and dry clothes of the same color.

It costs me $7 to get the cleaners to do it.

What you may want to try is washing it, and hanging it up to dry. Then use your vacuum cleaner hose to suck the lint off. It actually works.

Hmm... well that's the problem. I can't get the initial lint off, unless I was to hand pick all 5 million particles.

--EDIT--

Vacuum cleaner, really? Can I do that without washing it first?

the best way to get them off, is to prevent them from getting on your fleece in the first place, and that what a lint trap in a dryer is there for, but you have to clean it out after every dry cycle.

So you could try washing that fleece again, clean out your lint trap, and then that might be an improvement, or you could just pick them off one by one.

wrap a piece of tape, preferably masking, around ur fingers with the sticky side out and go over the sweater quickly.

Hmm.. I didn't even know about a lint trap.

I'll try the tape method.

You can, but it really loosens everything up.

oh yeah, and if you don't clean out your lint trap after every dry cycle, it would get overloaded, and it won't trap lint no more, so that is why you have lint on your fleece.
