shifts
I know that people look down their noses at Lindows but I wanted it to give it a try Reason being is that EVERY time ive downloaded Mandrake or Redhat it always fails on the 2nd cd on my laptop. Ive given Lindows a shot on VMware and want to see what the speed is like without it being in an emulator type program. Whats the best way to install along side my xp thats already installed? Cheers
aadhu
it will do it automatically.. during install.. it will ask u if u want it to take over the whole harddisk.. or install side by side another OS
kongit
I suggest you get the livecd. then you don't have to install anything to try it out. It does what it says it will do. I won't use it, but it isn't that bad.
shrike
the problem with the Live CD is that it is pretty much the same as using an emulator. The speed is pretty much the same. Take aadhu's advice, or get an old, small HDD and install it there
LordHatrus
do a Md5 check and burn check (The RedHat install has them, methinks) once you've burned your disc.. It could be the reason why it dies on the disc is because it has been burned badly or has other data errors.....
AOXOMOXOA
yah, it would be much faster if it were on a hard drive rather than using the live cd. i use livecd os's to test newbuilds that ship without an os.

Don't forget that you can also md5 the .iso file before burning it. A lot faster. ;)
