Upgrading Mandrake broke RPMs

Recommended Posts

I upgraded from the Mandrake 10 snapshot to RC1 yesterday, and can no longer use RPMs. Any way to fix this without reinstalling? I've spend hours getting it how I like it.

what do you mean, can't use RPMs?

What EXACTLY is wrong with it?

can you run rpm from the terminal?

Nope. Terminal says they're locked.

I made this post early, it was poorly written. Basiclly, my system no longer recognizes RPMs, and installing software using the Mandrake packages too is a bit screwy now.

I'm going to try upgrading from the same ISOs again and see if that fixes things. Has anyone else had this happen? I've had simular problems upgrading older releases, where the upgrade just breaks everything. It's a shame to have to format and do a clean install, it takes so long to get everything how i like it.

I apologize for my ignorance as I'm new to Linux.
