iTunes not opening

Recommended Posts

I get that as well. I read that you need to delete your preference file as it is corrupted. I think its in "My Music". Hold on.

*checks My Music*

yup, its in My Music under itunes. Try that.

Let me know if it works. I stopped using it some time ago because of that problem and never went back, but I recently read the advice I gave you.

I get this sometimes, I go into task manager and end the process. It starts up the next time I click the icon.

I tried that too but for me it never worked. Itunes would work fine for a while, then all of a sudden, it just wouldn't open. I have the same problem with quicktime from time to time. Nost sure why.

The preference file is under "My Music" under itunes. Should only be two files. I think its the xml document.

In my itunes folder under my music, I have an xml file which I gather is my preferences, a itunes music db file, and the actual itunes music folder. you don't have these two files?

From my understanding, if its not there, then find it and delete it. Basically, I read, wish I saved the link now, that itunes preference file gets corrupted. By deleting it, when you start itunes, it will recreate it for you.

Oh ya.... I got here from the fron page, so I didn't even look at what forum it is.

So, did it work??? Might have to give itunes another try.

he has those files, it's just that people thought that he was talking about the Mac version instead of the Windows version.

If people thought he was talking about the Mac version they probably would've said delete the com.apple.itunes.plist file in ~/Library/Preferences/.

Glad to hear it Boffa. :D
