I don't think you even need cd 2. But they have packages on them that you might like, but you can install it with only cd 1 and download the stuff off the internet.

So to answer you, you don't need cd 3.

I recommend downloading CD3, you might wake up one day with the ability to speak spanish.

I should think so, but knowing linux you will probably have to read through 30,000 pages of crap and then recompile your life before it will allow you to even think about it.

heh, yes, you can add stuff from CD3 if ever you decide to download it using the Mandrake package installer. If you dont have CD3, or CD2 for that matter, when installing, its no problem whatsoever.

I just use CD 1 and 2. Everything on there (except for mysql-bench as far as I know) is on the first two CDs, and the third CD is for alternative languages.
