Yukon Server Delayed

Recommended Posts

Just got the email from the Yukon's beta team.

Ladies and Gentlemen: As our valued beta customers and partners, we would like to provide you with an update on the SQL Server "Yukon" product schedule. We have made the decision to delay the release of SQL Server "Yukon" and Visual Studio "Whidbey" until the first half of 2005 to ensure that the products meet the high quality requirements of our customers. This delay will allow Microsoft to incorporate enhancements provided by customer feedback, such as yourselves. We are committed to delivery a high quality release with SQL Server "Yukon." To ensure the highest level of quality, we have decided to add a Beta 3 cycle, which is expected by the end of the year. This beta cycle will allow our TAP customers and Microsoft to put SQL Server "Yukon" into early production and provide valuable production feedback before we release the final product. We have also finalized the product name to be Microsoft SQL Server 2005. Moving forward with Beta 2, you will see that name reflected in the product. We are excited about the enhancements we are delivering with SQL Server 2005 and look forward to your continued feedback. In addition to providing you with the most up-to-date information on our product cycles, we remain steadfastly focused on delivering products that exceed your expectations for stability, productivity, security, and overall quality. We are hard at work incorporating your feedback on Beta 1 into SQL Server "Yukon" and are focused on getting the second beta in your hands by the end of June. Please remember that you are under a non-disclosure agreement with Microsoft since you are participating in the official Microsoft SQL Server beta program. All communications in this email is considered strictly confidential and for your information only. Thank you for your continued support. Fernando Caro Microsoft SQL Server Customer Programs

I hope you get kicked from the beta, because you're apparently not able to follow a simple NDA.

Especially since you're that dumb to post this email while having an IM account linked in your profile that lists your real name and current location.
