Scootersing
I have tryed to play music cd`s with my Linux mandrake 9.2, without any luck. the only thing that is installed is kmix. (can this be because i only installed linux from 1 of the cd`s and not all 3?, i had not downloaded all cd`s u see) I have also tryed to download different types of apz for Mp3 player(mp3blaster. etc), without any luck. I don`t now how to install the mp3 player into the Linux, i have "Ziped" out the files but i just can`t get any further.(i am a newb, so it was not a big surprise). I have played music cd`s before with mandrake, but then i used Mandrake 8.0(old version) and it worked great. Hope u all have an answer for me! Scootersing
kemical
first off if you are in mdk im assuming you use kde, make sure your sound is setup in the control center (it uses artsd as default) also xmms is the most popular mp3 player resembles winamp so i would try that as well, just make sure you have the mpg123 plugin installed for xmms to have mp3 support hth
