kombolcha
i can't take it anymore.. i constantly get MySQL errors and 404.. i wait a few minutes.. refresh and neowin loads.. i browse around, post here and there and each time it goes slower and slower until.. 404!!! IN YOUR FACE and i have to wait another 3 - 5 minutes before neowin is accesable again. it has been doing this for 3 days  i've used firefox, Avant, and IE.. all have the same symptoms and i've also tried clearing all IE related files (temp, cookies.. etc)

HellBender
Its getting somewhat ridiculous. I hate to complain as well, but the major downtime is really hurting Neowin.. a lot of members are leaving because of it. If I was a fairly new member, I would probably switch over to another forum as well.
Steven
The error is "CANNOT FIND DATABASE NEOWIN_IBF" then you refresh and it works! Its like the database just disappears.. Warning: mysql_connect(): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (11) in /home/neowin/public_html/forum/sources/Drivers/mySQL.php on line 67Warning: mysql_select_db(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL-Link resource in /home/neowin/public_html/forum/sources/Drivers/mySQL.php on line 70 ERROR: Cannot find database neowin_ibf Warning: mysql_query(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL-Link resource in /home/neowin/public_html/forum/sources/Drivers/mySQL.php on line 103 There appears to be an error with the Neowin.net database. Glowstick
Supposendly too much mySQL connections. Got that errors all the time the last hour. And when I managed to get in, there were only 100 guests and like 60 members. Yet another DDOS?
Fred Derf Veteran Posted March 12, 2004 Veteran Share Posted March 12, 2004 /me still thinks its the switch from SCSI to SATA. That would probably be it. SATA and EIDE generate a lot of interrupts to get work done. It's fine if you are transferring large blocks but it gets rather beat up easily when asked for a lot of small data bits. SCSI is much more proficient in this area. Neowin is dead, long live Neowin. I doubt this will post...

Glowstick
Nah, for me it was dog slow for a certain period, dropping me the too many conns 80% of the times. The other 17% it didnt respond at all, and the remaining 3% were luck to see something.
