+allan MVC Posted March 13, 2004 MVC Share Posted March 13, 2004 I've only been a member about a month and a half, but every day during that time there are several times a day the site is simply inaccessible. Sometimes I get the SQL error, but more often than not I simply can't get in. And it happens at various hours of the day. Can't just be when the site is very busy either, because often when I do get back in there have been very few new posts.
+allan MVC Posted March 13, 2004 MVC Share Posted March 13, 2004 For example, as I submitted the above post the site locked up for me and this is the first chance I could get back to see if my comments actually posted.
NetGX
I hope this will be fixed soon, either way i'll still be coming to here no matter what, it's just getting really annoying lately
HellBender
I just noticed that a lot of the slowdown happens when the database is being accessed (like when checking posts or stuff) but when you just click on a link unrelated to the database (like clicking on the Search link) it isnt slow at all. X Statik Process
Its getting somewhat ridiculous. I hate to complain as well, but the major downtime is really hurting Neowin.. a lot of members are leaving because of it. If I was a fairly new member, I would probably switch over to another forum as well. You're right, but not many forums compare to Neowin's. Neowin rocks. I am more than happy to deal with the downtime, because this site is great. I don't mind a little inconvience, because I come here ALOT, and it's a great resource.
Chode
It seems rock stable again, but time is yet to tell us if that is a good thing or not
fettermanj
I have been having a problem with neowin also. The main page and comments will load, but anything forum related will not load or open or anything. Is it from the backups?
kombolcha
i don't know.. i didn't think this thread would have lasted this long.. it's been smooth sailing for neowin a few days after i created this thread.
