Symbiotic Hat
I disable the service. I believe that before you send, it tells you what it is sending.
Spacedog
I always send error reportings, everytime an app crashes (which is a very rare event, I must admit). I bought my Powerbook, I bought the Panther upgrade, so I think I don't have anything to worry about :D And I know for sure that Apple engineers read bug reports. David Hyatt, chief developer of the Safari project, has said he and his team benefits a lot from the error reportings. Oh, and yes, you can see what information is been sent, so I'm sure there's no need of being paranoid about it (was it sent to Microsoft, on the other hand, would have been a completely different matter... ;) :p )
SPeedY_B
Yup, In the rare occurrence I'm prompted to do so, I'll send it off :)
mAcOdIn Veteran Posted March 11, 2004 Veteran Share Posted March 11, 2004 I send 'em. Infact I decided to try tracking one for the first time just today so I'll see if that does anything and if they actually really follow up on stuff. I don't know exactly what goes out but it does tell you before it sends it, you have to click on it though to see. Personally I could care less. HoochieMamma
I send them all the time  I think that if microsoft/apple put something like that in their OS they would at least look at the error reports. Because if they dont why did they put it in as a part of XP/Pather if it doesnt do anything? PS: Iam assuming you are also talking about error reporting on different OS's (apple + microsoft)

BTallack
I do, but the only program that ever usually crashes on me is Camino, which I'm using a nightly build of, so it makes sense. Now the question is, does the Camino team ever get to see those error reports?

Now the question is, does the Camino team ever get to see those error reports? Probably not. I know the Adium team had to make their own reporter because they didn't get the reports sent by Panther.
