markwolfe Veteran Posted March 13, 2004 Veteran Share Posted March 13, 2004 Nope. There are so many changes (nearly everything) that you will need to download the full set. Perhaps a mirror? Or maybe it is on bittorrent? Or if a friend can get a better download speed, have them do it?
lexor
did they release it to public yet? or is it still in member's club?
MrStaticVoid
It still hasn't been released to the public, but that doesn't mean it isn't out there. You just have to know where to look. ;)

Make an entry into your /etc/X11/XF86config file that says you can. ;) You will see a list of allowable resolutions. Just add the resolution you want to see into that list.

I'm noob @ linux :p, but i like the OS. THX I am not 100% positive, but with the 2.6 kernel and much of the latest software, it would be likely to be better. (if nothing else, you can use VESA-compliant modes)
[ucw]prophet
Just got it installed... rather sweet and extremely fast... Can anyone tell me if mandrake has radeon 9600xt drivers? In 9.2 i just couldn't open the xwindows properly. I have an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro and it installed without a hitch. I'm really digging the new 2.6.x kernels.

UKer
Just tried it myself and very impressed - this is the first distro that worked out of the box with my nForce sound and net (it uses ALSA and forcedeth respectively), and even allows all 6 speakers to be used with the new version of ALSA. The only problem I've had is that I need to power down instead of reboot or the network doesn't work with Windows, but I think this is a forcedeth, not MDK issue.
