Funny should you ask; I think this dock will look the best of any dock available for windows when it's finished. After all, it's mine. ;)

First, remember this is beta. The only reasons it's even available are because a.) alot of people asked for it from screenshots I posted, and b.) because a guy named Orhan got ahold of it from AquaSoft (I had posted it to get some help) and started posting it on WinCustomize as his very own desktopX theme that he 'made' from scratch. Shame on Orhan. DesktopX can emulate 75% of the functions of the real dock...it cannot properly emulate the taskmanager in this version of DesktopX (Stardock says they may add this in future versions...)

But you want to know how to fix it.

1.) To delete an object desktop icon, right click and choose "delete object". Don't delete all objects in it's family when promted, otherwise he entire theme will dissapear!

2.) To move an object into the dock area, hold ctrl while left clicking (ctrl+left click), then use the arrow keys on your keyboard to move the objects around your screen.

3.) To assign an objects target, right click, choose "set target".

41 objects to choose from, the dock holds 11.

I will be releasing an updated version soon with a more realistic mouseover (mouse will effect multiple icons like the real dock.

Future releases will also include objects with pop-up menus, actual item text, icon explosions, better DesktopX plug ins for objects and alot more zoomer objects for the dock so it can fit each users needs as an application launcher.

The whole idea is that this is a temporary hold-over to help build a high quality image library, so when someone eventually codes a real dock a library of images will be available for a user to pull from instead of rewriting the entire shell32.dll.

If anyone knows the DesktopX messaging system and wants to help, email me.

haha! COOL!

LOL! ... that top shot is of my Desktop! :D

hehe!

the Dock is replicated via AquaDock! ... BUT, the icons can look a Little awful, unless you res hack it them, with decent icons! ... So if u wanna use that Program, you will noticably see the difference, from Desktop X! ... If the Quality of the eye candy is all your looking for... Go With deadzombie (Nudge Nudge Wink Wink!! :D)

That Dock Looks tight! ;)

~~NeYo~~ "Say No more!"; thanks for the props. Wish desktopX was as functional as your version.

For everyone emailing me or has questions about what that desktopX theme should look like, here's one of the many possibilities...
