PseudoRandomDragon
Computer A (Win98SE) cannot connect to computer B (Mandrake Linux 9.2). I had setup samba so that computer B can connect to computer A, see the shares and mount, but computer A cannot see computer B. I tried turning off the firewalls on both computers to no avail. I had setup a shared directory in my home folder and definately have permissions to share files. Heck, even tried sharing under root with no results. What do I do? Samba does not automatically sync passwords with Linux. i.e. If you have a Madrake account for "fred" with the password "666" for me to login and use the system locally. When connecting from a Windows box you cannot automatically use the account "fred" with the password "666". You need to set up a separate samba account to do that. Was that clear? PseudoRandomDragon
How do I setup a separate samba account? Is that in the LinNeighborhood program?
