Popups with FireFox?

Recommended Posts

For some reason, I cannot post a comment or start a new thread using Firefox as of today. Everytime I click on the Post New Topic or Post Comment button it loads a new page offering me High Speed DSL for dial-up. I have no idea why. I can load this perfectly fine in IE though so I'm not sure what's going on.

Any help would be appreciated because I really don't want to have to go back to IE after being with Firefox for so long.

Cleared the cache, not on a proxy, ran ad-ware. All with no result.

I'll try a fresh restart later to see if that's an issue. Otherwise, IE until I head to work (Tom Jones tonight...wooo, lol)

jsut Neowin.... what do you think is the problem?

When you ran AdAware... did you make sure it was extra thorough? Set it to scan your hosts file and everything? Also, newest database?

It sounds like somethin' somewhere has attatched itself to Neowin on that browser... maybe try clearing temp files and cookies?

Where is this link coming from? Is it in any of the HTML of any Neowin page?

We have found only one product that states that it can scan and remove adware & spyware on a MAC. MacScan claims that it can detect, isolate and remove spyware, keystroke loggers and trojans from your Macintosh which could have been maliciously or inadvertently installed on your Macintosh. It supports both Mac Classic & Mac OSX. On our tests our Mac computer came up clean.

I had this on my site. One of my members said we had a pop up going to a porn site, I didn't get it and nor did anyone else. It seems that he had a virus, so did you virus scan your computer?

Couch Potato?

Glad to see I wasn't the only person with the issue.

I have scanned for adware very thourough, I did a virus scan, re-updated virus definitions and scanned again, updated cache files, and rebooted. Happened once after I rebooted but then it's fine since. No idea what was going on.
