Shadrack
It would be really awesome to get this thing to work, but I'm getting pretty sick of fighting with it, and should probably just go buy a new sound card but maybe someone can point me in the right direction. In my bootlog I get the following: unable to grab IRQ 19 C-Media PCI: probe of 0000:00:0e.0 failed with error -16 my modules.conf has the following sound related lines: above snd-cmipci snd-pcm-oss alias sound-slot-0 snd-cmipci here is the documentation for snd-cmipci: snd-cmipci on ALSA But there isn't an option to change the IRQ. It is an onboard soundcard, and there isn't any options in bios to change the IRQ either. How can I see what is on IRQ 19? Any other sugestions? I'm on Mandrake 10 Community, Linux 2.6.3-4mdk Thanks for your time. -Nic
zivan56
Why do you use ALSA when you can use the native linux driver? The module is called cmpci and it supports both the 8338 and 8738 chip. You might want to disable PnP OS in the BIOS to fix this.
Shadrack
because the ALSA drivers are better :/ . cmpci are OSS, and I can't get those to work either. (although I could in Mandrake 9.2 w/ kernel ver. 2.4). My PnP OS is off in the bios as well. Thanks for the reply.
