heffy420
I'm looking for comments from people who have upgraded their macs with new processors I'm thinking of upping my G4 400 to a Sonnet or Powerlogix 1ghz. Right now my Mac works great for E-Mail and playing music but it lags far behind my desktop PC "Athlon 3000xp,Nforce2,Radeon9600xt" I dont wanna play games on my mac(see above) I just want it to run Photoshop,Illustrator Corel and other graphics apps. What do you think.? Is it worth the 300-400 bucks to upgrade or should I sell the whole deal and just buy a iBook?
Tim Dorr Veteran Posted March 16, 2004 Veteran Share Posted March 16, 2004 For the speed increase you're looking at, I'd say the 1Ghz upgrade is a good idea :)
Matrix XII
Howcome you dont just use your pc for both? ...If I were you, I'd just spend more money on my PC and run everything... just me though ;)
Shining Arcanine
Why even have a Macintosh if you have a PC? Especially with that kind of hardware.

heffy420
I use my MAC for stuff I dont want lose. It seems I'm doing a reformat on my PC every three months or so just to keep my performance up to max. Plus all my graphics software is for my MAC. I'm not going to go out and buy PC versions when I already own them for OSX.. Like I said before my pc is a pure gaming machine tweaked as much as I can and my mac is the workhorse. Should I put the horse to pasture?
Gary_Player
Do you really need 2 desktops? I'd go for the PC desktop and mac laptop...in my ideal world thats what i'd have :D
Chad
Where in his post did he mention anything about getting rid of his Mac for a pc? If you can't be helpful, why bother posting. Upgrading your Mac would be a better option vs an iBook. Unless you absolutely need the mobility of it, there's no reason to buy a laptop.
