Some of you reminded me of a Family Guy quote I saw the other day: "Peter: Look Lois, the two symbols of the Republican Party: an elephant, and a fat white guy who is threatened by change."

I say move it all around! It's time for a forum shake up :D

I say move it, but dont put the help and discussion center on top, could be this way

1-Windows Support

2-Customizing Windows

3-Linux Customization and Support

4-Macintosh Customization and Support

5-Help and Discussion Center

6-Designing and Programming

7-General Discussion

8-Neowin Related Discussion

Since this is neowin i think windows section should be on top, and i agree with flish, autopatcher should have its own forum

That actually sounds pretty good. Possibly a few small changes, but it sounds like it would be better suited to Neowin

See, my iddue with this is just the fact that I, and I'm sure other people are just used to the way it is now. Granted, we would probably get used to it over time, but you really have to ask - exactly how much is this going to boost the amount of tech-related posts? It might just make the people who post in the General Forum now more angry. :p

ok i dont know much about the admin side of these forums, but you know what would be cool? if like each member could customize a "my neowin" section and could arrange the forums in any order he/she chose.. im not sure if thats even possible, and im not sure ive ever seen it on another forum either. just an idea.

^ Hey, hey, hey, I said this first :p It's my idea :woot: :p

Get Neowin on ASP.NET and run something like the new My MSN page where members can click-and-drag the different forums wherever they want :D There's an idea :o Too bad Invision is PHP :/

BTW (I got side-tracked, oops ) I voted to move Help & Support up (Y)

It's just that no one paid attention because I mentioned ASP.NET...

Yeh, agreed. Only problem is that there won't be any more modifications until IP:cry:cry:

Never underestimate The Stupid.

It's not a case of underestimating anything, if we did there wouldn't be any mods at all. There won't be a single problem.

I personally like "The General Stuff" at the top.

I tend to spend more time there....well, at least that is my first port of call when I come here.

My favourite section is the Gamer's Hangout, which comes under General.

It's not an issue of having problems, it's an issue of having certain forums cluttered up like crap with offtopic stuff until some mod comes by and cleans it up. Even this board has a time window where there are low to none mods. And a global announcement notifying about the change, whether in the forum or via email, wouldn't change too much. On some gaming forum that's known for heavy moderation that'd make Neowin look like Trollers Playground, it didn't help either on a reorder, and it had way less subforums.
