MulletRobZ
Oh blast it! I install Mandrake 10 as a hope for trying to get my camera hooked up to my computer, but here is something weird. The camera is detected, yet in GTKam, I get an error message saying that it?s impossible to read the directories. On the command line utility (GPhoto2), I get another console error message. Is there something I have to disable in Mandrake 10 in order to get my camera to upload files to my PC? I need to know since I take a heck of a lot of pictures and need to get some stuff done really soon! Also, I have another question of curiosity concerning the NVidia drivers in Mandrake 10.0. Has somebody here tested them already and will they work flawlessly with just the execution of the .RUN file and the modifying of the XF86Config file? It would be nice if I could get the latest drivers to work since it worked flawlessly in Slackware, but I don?t have the disk with me now. I thank you in advance for whatever information you may be able to provide. EDIT: Here?s the console error message for GPhoto2 even with the camera autodetected. Sorry it?s French, but that?s the language used by default on my sys:)m.
It would be nice if I could get the latest drivers to work since it worked flawlessly in Slackware, Sorry But I can't help you. however I found this statement so ironic it made me laugh. I couldn't get my printer to work in slackware, but I installed mandrake 10 and It worked flawlessly with it.
MulletRobZ
Sorry, I was referring to the NVidia drivers. As for getting CUPS to work in Slackware, I used Slackware 9.0 - indicate version, since 9.1 won?t print outside of KDE - and all I had to do was to install CUPS, use the KPriinter wizard and selecting the CUPS server, and adding cupsd to the /etc/init.d/rc.local file. But the printer, I?m sure it works flawlessly in Mandrake 10 on my system as well. I was inquiring about the NVidia drivers because I never had luck getting them to work in Mandrake 9.0 since NVidia installs it in a way Mandrake doesn?t like for some strange reason. I?m more concerned about the camera for now.
