Will it be back or is it gone for good?
Malechai Veteran Posted March 18, 2004 Veteran Share Posted March 18, 2004 The author doesn't know how to behave within the neowin ruleset so he has been banned. In such, he has asked that his guide be removed from the board. I'd suggest finding an alternate guide that isn't used as ransom and disappears every time someone gets upset. Theres lots of other guides out there. Here's 1 from a google search.. http://www.svrops.com/svrops/documents/xpunattend.htm here's my google search if you'd like to access others.. http://www.google.com/search?q=unattended+windows+xp+guide
Banzai
Thanks the author deserves a slap the little girl. Could another member of the neowin board say me create my own guide and then give credit to an author from other site?

Keldyn
Go for it. It will be nice to have a guide that doesn't come and go at the whim of it's author.

Homer
I'm sorry but i have to stick up for my friend here in saying that if he gets banned he has the right to have any work that he spent a lot of time from removed from the community. I don't think any of you guys would like to have any of your works left behind if you got banned. He has now moved onto setting up a dedicated website for it so it can remain, and he was going to give full thanks to Neowin for hosting it, but since you think of him like that then why should he? Now quit the bashing and somebody lock this thread as it is simply pathetic. He respects you all and your views, but you don't know half of the story. Lets leave it at that. Malechai Veteran Posted March 18, 2004 Veteran Share Posted March 18, 2004 I didn't once question that its his right to request that it be removed. I simply suggested to find an alternate guide that, as keldyn put it, doesn't come and go at the whim of its author. Thanks for the suggestion on the thread closure but we've got it under control :) On a related note, I look forward to your guide Banzai! So if I got banned, I should be able to ask for helpful post I made to be deleted? No.
Homer
Silly re-read the post. And the fact that he was banned didn't change his thoughts on setting up a dedicated website. The guide would still have been removed and a link to the website would have been made.

While I'm sure we can all appreciate your desire to stand up for your friend, I feel that in this situation you have done it incorrectly. You are wrong in saying that if some of us got banned we would want our works removed, in the case of the majority of the staff we are all glad to provide a service and information to the entire Neowin Community and would not feel vendictive for being banned if we broke the rules (On numerious occasion.) There are many authors here who would not live by the, "If I can't play, I'll take my ball and go home." ideas here on Neowin, and those people are what make our community great. I applaude Banzai for his desire to contribute to our community and filling the hole which was recently created. You say he respects us and our views yet he didn't respect our rules, and we do know the entire story. Thank you for your comments, but I'd ask that you refrain from drawing this topic further off topic. Thanks! Cara Global Moderator

beingageek
I agree with both sides here. Thanks for apologizing Banzai and it is too bad he got banned but he obviously wasn't in line and didn't respect the moderator's decisions. I feel the rightful action was taken and I feel he also has strong will because he's setting up his dedicated site still :)
