LordHatrus
thats not your computer telling you that; its your monitor. ( i think) This site talks about it under SuSE linux... http://www.computergripes.com/suse.linux.html and I think all you really need to do is try a different resolution ;)
darkstar559
try a command that boots to a different resolution i think its F1 or F2 for commands
jhobo4
F1 brings me to the boot window and F2 brings me to the option window but there is no option to change screen resolution changed the resolution before booting and it made no difference anymore ideas tia
markwolfe Veteran Posted March 20, 2004 Veteran Share Posted March 20, 2004 They aren't talking about changing the resolution, then booting the CD. They are talking about passing a resolution parameter using a boot option, when it starts to boot from the CD. When you first boot, it should tell you to press [F-something] for help or advanced features or some such thing. Look there for how to force a specific resolution. (and pick one that isn't too high)
jhobo4
it doesn`t give me that option unfortunatley so I switched back to my CRT monitor and it booted past that to the next set up step the next thing is the allowing users and no matter how many times I keep entering names and passwords it just keeps asking (does a loop...checks for printers then back again to names and passwords)
