1759
The thread title basically says it all; I got a new (old) 400 MHZ, greeen iMac (for free) through the company that my mom works for. I figured it would give me a chance to try out OS X and whatnot. However, they removed the HD (due to security concerns), but also the RAM (why?) and when they were taking out the HD's, they also removed the power cable for it. I guess they're planning on donating the rest of these iMac's, but they're unusable without power to the HD. Also I'm not sure if their IT dept. has kept any of these parts or if they had them destroyed yet. I've got a spare HD and RAM, but it's a really BIG paperweight w/o the HD power cord. Xylene
Wouldn't be suprised if they thought the RAM could hold information after the machine is powered down.
