I installed SuSE last nite over the FTP and now today morning when i loaded it comes to a console window (grub). And nothin happens .. i can type stuff in the prompt is grub>. Now windows wont boot! markwolfe Veteran Posted March 22, 2004 Veteran Share Posted March 22, 2004 You can ask GRUB what it can find on your hard drive partitions. I don't know the commands off the top of my head. Tab completion works to suggest possibilities. I have used kernel /vmlinuz ro root=/dev/hda1 to boot manually from a GRUB prompt before.
