configure Veteran Posted March 24, 2004 Veteran Share Posted March 24, 2004 There was an SSL error: [('SSL routines', 'SSL3_GET_SERVER_CERTIFICATE', 'certificate verify failed')]A common cause of this error is the system time being incorrect. Verify that the time on this system is correct. Anyone know how I can fix that?

chomps
What version of Linux r u running? Redhat, Suse, etc If your using RedHat then just check to see wheather the service is up use 'ntsysv' and look for the rhnsd service. make sure it is flagged and say ok. Then check to see if the service is running... use '/etc/rc.d/init.d/rhnsd status' and '/etc/rc.d/init.d/rhnsd start' to start.
configure Veteran Posted March 24, 2004 Author Veteran Share Posted March 24, 2004 It's flagged so it should be started. I did rhnsd start but didn't get any returns and the problem still persist :/ It's Redhat 9 btw. :p
kongit
nevermind- just try an alternative like synapic or red carpet. I prefer redcarpet with ximian desktop on my redhat 9. I had lots of problems with up2date.
chomps
also check if you have an account with rhn if not youhave to go to the site and create it. I know it's a bit of a shlep but they now require details about you and the latest update. I also had problems with it and I had to do that. It is becoming a little like microsoft. You also need your product key. bull-****, I know!!!
kongit
just remembered you need to download the newest version of up2date to get it to work right. :)
