Lets look at the crontab file usually in /etc

How do you configure this...what are the correct commands to use in this script

* * * * * what are these ( the real values)

Well OK here goes for those that don't like all the reading in circles.

The format:

Minutes Hours Days Months Weekdays User Command to run

(0-60) (0-23) (1-31) (Jan-Dec) (Sun-Sat) (root) (Your command string)

Example:

To run say fetchmail as root with your fetchmail script every five minutes everyday / every month -

0-60/5 * * * * root /usr/bin/fetchmail -a -f /root/fetchmailrc

The '0-60/5' is between minute 0 - 60 with an interval of 5 minutes.
