Download resouce hacker. http://delphi.icm.edu.pl/ftp/tools/ResHack.zip http://rpi.net.au/~ajohnson/resourcehacker/reshack.zip in japanese: http://rpi.net.au/~ajohnson/resourcehacker...rh_japanese.zip 2.) Open up resource hacker. clik on FIle>open open up: C:windowssystem32shell32.dll alrite, now u can edit away!! What are: Icon Gruops: A group of icons that are the same things in different sizes. Dialog: A window, such as display properties Icons: Seperate icons of the size indicated. Bitmap: Bitmap images. replacing icon groups: Clik on an icons group of ur choice, then rite clik on it, and go to replace source. then browse to the icon location, select it, and when it goes back to he replace dialog, clik on replace. 4.)saving: save as! remember, the most important step!!! DO NOT CLIK ON SAVE!!!!!! and save it in C: or D: or make a new folder in the C: drive such as (shell). 5.)Final Step: then exit resource hacker.get a boot disk that lets u go in DOS.(XP BOOT DISC) restart the computer with a boot disk. u can use windows ME, XP, 98, 95, NT, etc's boot disks. when in dos, type tthis: --------------------------------------------------- C: copy C:shell32.dll C:windowssystem32 --------------------------------------------------- or ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- C: copy (your drive letter: )(folder u saved it in)shell32.dll C:windowssystem32 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- thats it!! Where is Dll Cache?? |Start| ==> |RUN| ==> TYPE "C:windowssystem32dllcache" with out "" 's u can delete(the file u are going to hack) exe's if u are trying to hack explorer. delete explorer.exe from dll cache. end task explorer, and from resouce hacker, save it in the windows folder, usually "C:windows" I can not be held resposible to anything that happes to your computer. © 2002. ZzPcPzZ Posted February 20, 2002 Author Share Posted February 20, 2002 for the boot disc, i thut every 1 was using fat32. if not, then use XP's recovery console. it is easiest thru a win 95/98/me boot disk tho. and as for windows nt boot disk, i am not sure, i thut it would have it. and... Last time I used Resource Hacker, it took me almost an hour to restore my computer, since my desktop wouldn't load and it takes me a good 10 mins to boot into safe mode. did u just save the file, or save as sumwhere else, then replace it? if u just saved it, then u will get problems.
