macman87
i have a question: does entourage manage threads as well as mail.app?
hoyablue
Could you clarifiy on that question? I don't use Mail so I'm not quite fluent on the terminology regarding its interface. This is a Preview (Beta) version so Entourage itself is a little slow. Hasn't crashed yet, the interface and Outlook 2003-like interface is incredible. dougkinzinger
Nice shots, man. Thanks. I wonder why they don't re-christen "Entourage" as "Outlook" again, now that Exchange support is/was back......

Wickedkitten Veteran Posted March 25, 2004 Veteran Share Posted March 25, 2004 the good thing about entourage is that its got like in mail where if you have peoples msn names in your address book you can message them about emails direct from the client a la mail-ichat
hoyablue
I do not know when Office 2004 is being released. If you guys have any questions or want screenies or anything, feel free to ask. I'm glad nobody called these fakes, that would've made me flat out ****ed. I would tell you guys where I got it, but for the sake of sticking to forum rules... I can't! NeoMayhem
Wow, this is pretty darn nice for MS software. Entourage is a huge improvement, but still not as good or simple as mail.app The new features in Word are nice, it is like Word+OneNote on windows. Recorded Audio encodes to AAC, nice feature. Doing anything to a document that wont be compatible with windows versions/older versions of word makes the toolbar icon flash, and clicking it tells you what is wrong. Pretty nice. I will be using Word and Excel, but keep using Keynote/Mail.app from apple :p //Edit: Errors are getting more XP like... Koyder
And now for something completely different: the icons. What do you think of them? I presonally prefer the glossy Office X ones. The new ones appear too dark with color saturation set too high. Generally they're less aqua- and more XP-like, especially the new Messenger icon. Shame. drdeath2k3
Nah I have Microsoft Office 2004 Preview and those icons look really nice in my dock :D Hi there... just wondering: are the differences from 2004 and v.x vast? I have access to Office 2004.. but i don't know if it's worth the troubles to get it...
the evn show
I hate the icons: but I always have for office. I'd prefer something like the old office icons from back when win311 was still king of the x86 world: Office 4 for mac.
NeoMayhem
Yeah, I dont like the icon much either, or the 2003 ones. The X ones were better then 2004's though.
Elliott
I prefer 2004's icons over the X icons. Entourage is a huge improvement, but still not as good or simple as mail.app Don't get my started on Mail's Exchange support... In my opinion, Exchange is more fully featured than Mail, but Mail is simpler. It's a compromise for both of them I guess.
XP_01
Hi there... just wondering: are the differences from 2004 and v.x vast? I have access to Office 2004.. but i don't know if it's worth the troubles to get it... if you can get it, just get it. It's fun to play around with. I had to add some of the v. X spellcheck files to 2004 to get the Dutch spelling system working though (I know that trick from the Office 2003 beta on pc)
Koyder
Now... why is the Word icon smaller than the others? Actually, the Word icon is same size as in Office X, it is the remaining ones that have been enlarged. Not cool...
am_fek
Can't say it bothers me, I'll just stick the v.X icons on the 2004 apps :)
