robinmthomas
The Situation: You have to computer (probably more): One at work and one at home. One day you are surfing the web at work and you find a great URL you need to bookmark, so you do. The next day, you are surfing at home and you realize that you want to look at the URL you bookmarked at work. Hmmm....What to do? I know, lets copy the bookmark link from work to home. Great, but now say that you have a massive bookmark list that you are always adding/deleting/renaming/organizing at work. Hmmm....well, what don't I just copy the entire favorites folder to my home computer. Great! Except that I have URLs at home that I want to merge, in fact, I wish I could get my home URL to work as well. And so you see the problem. If most of you are serious web surfers, you will agree that your favorites folder looks like some people harddrive it has so many folders, sub-folders, files. I am hoping someone knows where this program exists - it might not :( There is a program called Sync-It, which did the exact perfect thing. Except now they are changing money for it. Does anyone know of a program that will let you "merge" bookmarks with another set? Is anyone handy with Vb to program one? Things to keep in mind - There may (or may not) need to be some sort of central server. If both computers are reachabled by the internet you could pick one of the "current", but if one has a dial-up, you would need to merge to a centeral location (i.e. a geocities webpage). If you reorganized bookmarks, it would have to be able to detect a delete and an add, not just the add. My guess is that there is something like this already - My guess is that a lot of people need something like this. Any Ideas! Thanks
zornr0t
You can use Yahoo! Bookmarks. You can keep your bookmarks online, and use them if you are using the Yahoo! Companion. But also, it's a central location and you can import and export bookmarks in various formats for merging what you currently have.

robinmthomas
The blink thing is pretty cool (although you have to take care to avoid signing up for all that spam). The problem with blink is that you have to manually say "Upload Bookmarks" I was hoping for something that did it automatically in a system tray application. Thanks. iraklis2000
Export you links to a file. Then right-click the file and send-to you email....type your home email, and there you go! Now, go home and import it on the other end.... Voila! You can select which folders you want imported/exported....
