How do i defrag a hd in Linux?

It's generally not neccasary, what file system are you using?

ext2 is designed to not need defragmenting and does it VERY well, ext3, reiserfs and xfs are even better

even NTFS isn't that bad, there hasn't really been a need for defragging since FAT32 & Mac HFS
