CatnipOligarchy Posted March 26, 2004 Share Posted March 26, 2004 The Atlanta Braves have acquired P Chris Reitsma from the Cincinnati Reds for Pitchers Jung Keun Bong and Bubba Nelson. Reitsma went 9-5 with a 4.29 last season and was voted Reds' most outstanding pitcher. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=1768861 Yesterday the Braves picked up RHP Juan Cruz from the Cubs for P Andy Pratt and IF Richard Lewis. These arent huge moves, but the Braves biggest weakness the last few years has been the bullpen. Behemoth Posted March 26, 2004 Share Posted March 26, 2004 I'm glad they made these moves. With the loss of Sheffield and Javy Lopez, the offense will probably be struggling this year. The weight is definetly going to be on Andruw and Chipper to produce the runs. Smoltz really needs help in the bullpen. You sure got your ear to the ground. :yes: I'm a Cubs fan and didn't know that. I saw Cruz pitch this last Sunday and thought he's still got a long way to go. Atlanta will now have to put up with his poor attitude and wildness.
