mimeryme
Hello. I've just tried out IconPackager and when I tried the Restore feature, I didn't get all my original icons back. The ones I didn't get back were the File icons. Namely, the ZIP, BMP, GIF, JPG, icons. I only know of shell32.dll, but I could not find it in there. Thanks for any help. BroChaos Veteran Posted February 21, 2002 Veteran Share Posted February 21, 2002 yeah, i had that problem once too. my advice: don't touch iconpackager. just use something like iconphile, much better IMO. sorry i can't help with the icons, but yeah, they're in dll's somewhere i'd guess. cheers, joe

postertoad
Newbie question: How do you get into a .dll ? oh ... and thanks for not laughing at me ... too hard. :s
mimeryme
Thanks hurting101, now I'm set w/ my image file icons. Wonder where the ZIP archive icon's at. (writing note to self about shimgvw.dll ) Btw, can anyone tell me about the taskbar icon of IE or the application icon above the 'File' menu. Is it supposed to be the same as icon for the html files (small view in list / details ) ? I mean the glassy looking one in XP or is it the older one? Cuz I think mine's messed up too. It's not the glassy one, but I don't remember. :old:

mimeryme
:D thanks again hurting101 :D ___ btw, postertoad, it depends what you mean by getting into a dll. if u mean hacking it and messing around with it then u probably use reshacker (or was it just reshack) well, and if u want to use the icons in a dll, any icon changing program should be able to do it. windows can get into it too (say when u want to change a shortcut's icon, u could use the ones in a dll.
