Firefox wont start

Recommended Posts

 I installed the dag rpm of FireFox 0.8-1 onto my Fedora Core installation. All went fine and the prog ran great. So, I decided to install a new theme. Theme installed and I restarted Firefox to get this error (sse below). This is now all I get and Firefox won't start even when the rpm is uninstalled and reinstalled :(

Any idea how to fix this?

find a tar file of firefox and untar it to your home directory. You don't have permission to some part of firefox. The other option is to find the part with incorrect permission and change it, but just installing it into your home directory would be the easiest...plus you could use a nightly which might have been made better than the one in the rpm.

The reason is probably because you installed a non-.8 compatible theme with Firefox.

During pre-.8 development, the Firebird team changed the name of a class from widgets to bindings, and killed all themes and many extensions in the process. My suggestion? rm -r firefox and reinstall it, and make sure that the theme works before installing it (or port it over yourself, very easy to do).
