I'm getting redirected to www.jupiter.bravenet.com

Recommended Posts

For the last 2 weeks each time I click a Neowin forum group I am getting sent to www.jupiter.bravenet.com.

Each time this happens the connection just hangs until I click cancel then reload. It then goes to www.neowin.net

or data.neowin.net and goes through OK. If I don't cancel and reload the connection times out.

I can work this out through my hosts file but hesitate to do that until I find out if it is normal behavior.

Is jupiter.bravenet.com one of Neowins affiliated sites? Is this supposed to be happening.

The IP's are:

65.39.176.73

65.39.176.38

65.39.176.71

65.39.176.72

I can't reach that site through either of those IP's.

What's up?

I just scanned with adaware and found nothing.

I reset my browser to IE as default and the problem no longer exists.

It seems that Firefox is the culprit. If I click the forum link in IE,

it goes with no problem. If I click the same link with Firefox, it tries

to connect to jupiter.bravenet.com. This is really getting annoying.

Any idea why Firefox would redirect Neowin connections?

I tried it with the other forums (to remain unnamed) and it didn't happen

with Firefox or IE.

Strange

Just use IE!

: Before I get flamed, I am just posting the same thing a firefox user would if the problem was with IE:

Have you tried un-installing firefox, deleting ALL remnants of firefox, then re-installing?

*stabs Fowen* YOU TROLL, WHY MUST YOU COME INTO EVERY GOD DAMN THREAD AND TELL US TO USE IE INSTEAD OF FIREFOX? IF YOU WERE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH YOUR CHEVY, DOES YOUR MECHANIC TELL YOU TO GO GET A FORD INSTEAD!?

: Before I get flamed, I'm just posting the same thing an IE user would if the Firefox user posted a troll message ;)

Yeah, also, I would suggest you delete your profile folder as well: %appdata%/Phoenix and/or %appdata%/Firefox
