PCAnywhere 10 trouble.......

Recommended Posts

I have just built and configured and Windows NT4 server its service packed up the SP6a and all the latest hot fixes.

When i have installed PCAnywhere 10 the installation goes fine, but when i try and change any of the setting etc like connection info to TCP/IP and click on OK i get the error message "You do not have rights to modify this file" the same thing happens when i try and add groups and user to the callers......

I have checked all the permissions on the relevent folders and they are fine..... i have also tried unintalling it and loading PCAnywhere 9.2 but that does the same :(

Anyone got any idea's befor i go insane :dead:

since you have a valid licence for both you should contact symantec and ask for support. i know that in the licence is also included a free support and technical assistance, so if you can't get it they maybe help you out, even taking the whole procedure step by step with the symantec support assistent on the phone. try that.:D

1. Get rid of that piece of crap NT4 and upgrade to 2000 Pro or XP.

2. Symantec DOES NOT have patches for that because they want you to buy their next release - 10.5. - they are jerks.
