itunes music store question?

Recommended Posts

I have a question, not sure if this is the right place, but when you buy music from there and download it, and you accidently delete it, is their a way to redownload it?

Once it's gone, it's gone.

Maybe if you spent $29,500 on the iTMS, they'd let you re-download it, but otherwise, it says in the agreement, you lose/delete it, it's gone. One good reason why you should always back up your music regularly, I mean, I do the same thing for CD's I buy (burn a copy of the cd as soon as I buy it, so in case of emergency, I have a copy), so... why wouldn't I for a downloaded music file?

If you buy a CD, and then lose it, you can't just go back to the store and demand they give you another one.

That may not be completely analogous (well, it isn't), but the point remains that with iTMS it's gone once it's gone. Just back up, it's not that hard. If you're a .Mac member, use Backup 2.0 and write everything to DVD, it's quick and painless. If you're not, just drag (*gasp* :)) your music folder on to a blank DVD and you're set.

if it shows up on your reciept, then there is proof that you did purchase it. Personally I think you should be able to at least download it once more, accidents do happen
