Knoppix & Wireless Card

Recommended Posts

My wireless card is unsupported under Knoppix :(

It's a Belkin 802.11b F5D6020u ver.2, I found this on the knoppix.net forums (http://216.239.59.104/search?q=cache:WozT0sBWem0J:www.knoppix.net/forum/viewtopic.php%3Ft%3D8815+belkin+f5d6020u+knoppix&hl=en&start=1&ie=UTF-8)

My wireless card is not recognised. I think I've found the correct config changes:

device "pcmf502rd"

class "network" module "pcmf502rd"

card "Belkin F5D6020u (rev 2)"

manfid 0x01bf, 0x3302

bind "pcmf502rd"

But the reponses don't really help the guy (or me).

Anyone here got an idea? :D

You can download a precompiled 2.6.4 kernel with apt-get. New kernels support newer hardware much better.

can I put that on the livecd?

I thought you had it installed but there are HOWTOs for remastering your own Knoppix LiveCD.

There is talk here of a Knoppix 3.4. I have yet to see that version pop up but it probably would have a 2.6.x kernel.
