HellBender
Knoppix 3.4 was available as a printed edition at CeBit 2004. It's available via Bittorrent now although the mirrors on the site have not updated yet. New features: * Linux Kernel 2.4.25 and, as a boot option, Kernel 2.6.3, both ACPI-enabled. * New IRDA/Bluetooth-Setup. * GPRS internet-connection ready. * enhanced hardware autodetection and driver updates. * also boots from (some) USB- and Firewire CD-Roms now. * internet-based software "live-installer", installs add-on packages in ramdisk or on persistent home directory. Fred Derf Veteran Posted March 30, 2004 Veteran Share Posted March 30, 2004 ,Mar 30 2004, 15:47] its a great OS for recovery and system diagnostic It's also a good distro to install on your hard drive. It's an easy way to get into Debian and you can preview it first by booting the Live CD. CaKeY
320KB/s here, hoping to all hell that it has support for the ethernet on the nforce board I dont know if it will work. The German c't version 3.4 comes with kernel 2.6.1. That would be a better bet. Although its German based, it does have some support for english.. enough to make it useable anyway. SaguratuS
Is it english or german? I'm waiting for the knoppix.net release to be sure. german.... functional? are you insane? I'm looking at a window titled "Befehlsfenster", and a can't find a single english word anywhere! Edit: it's a no go for the nforce network, damn - think I'll just mod up the STD version with nforce networking support. Edit 2: would anyone mind telling me where the "-" key is for a german keyboard setup? Edit 3: ah, nm, found it - it's the "/" key Edited April 2, 2004 by SaguratuS
