Wortmanov
This one is for people with an ethernet-card used for their internet connection (cable, xdsl). When winxp starts, the system stays idle for about 20-30 secs. Fix: *Go to the network connections screen *Right click on the LAN-connection and choose properties *Doubleclick on internet protocol (TCP/IP) *In the top-section of the screen choose "use the following IP-adress" (or something along those lines, i'm using winxp dutch) *Where is says IP-adress fill in 192.168.0.1 and for subnetmask fill in 255.255.255.0 *Click OK, close all windows, and restart, the problem should be fixed.
