HellBender
I've been having this problem since a couple of days, and its somewhat annoying. On the front page, it shows I have 1 PM, but in the forums it shows I have zero. My inbox has no new messages. What does this mean? Is there a hidden PM somewhere? Wannes
You could check the following things: * Did you click on it before you came to the forums page? * Is the pop up on new pm enabled? If so and you open the PM in the pop up, your new message link will go away. Couch Potato?
yanman
Umm Couch Potato?, I have the pop up on new PM option enabled and it doesn't get rid of the new message link straight away. But that's probably because I'm using Firefox, not sure:):)
Wannes
It won't go away untill you actually read the PM. therefore you need to click "read message in this window", then when you go to the forums the 1 new message will be gone. it doesn't go away by itself. you have to either refresh or go to another page. hellbender did go to another page. (site to forums) :) Couch Potato?
yanman
Yeah, that's what I meant as well. LOL I thought you were saying when it pops up straightaway that's when the 1 new message changes to 0 new messages. DW, my bad, my misunderstanding LOL

Borbus
I don't know why the one new message alert won't go away but I do know that when you get an auto message from a mod due to moved thread etc. it only appeas on the front page not anywhere else. Read all posts from mods see if that helps

Frank
Have you tried logging off and logging back in? Have you tried clearing all of your history, temp internet files, and cookies?

....
I've noticed that if you have one message that you haven't looked at buried in your PM list that can trigger that effect. Make sure all messages have been viewed. Same thing happened to me once....I noticed it was a PM I didn't look at in a few days.

HellBender
Welp, I opened every single one of my PMs and the message is gone now. Thanks, Launchy! Say, is there any way one can grovel and beg for more mailbox space?
Wannes
100 messages is a lot. most forums only give you 25 maybe 50 messages space. Couch Potato?
Banzai
i used to have this problem its because you get sent a message telling you your post has been moved, but it dosent shown up on the forum bit cuz its not an important pm i guess
