enable dma?

Right click on My Computer, Properties, Hardware, Device Manager,IDE/ATA, click on Primary and Secondary channels, then advanced. You have to use the drop down arrow to change to USE DMA if available. Restart and check to see that DMA is enabled.

UDMA = (U)ltra (D)irect (M)emory (A)ccess

This makes the Hard Drive and CD-ROM use less CPU resources and therefore they run faster.
