LiLViEtDuDe917
Hi, I got an iBook. First of all, I was using it normally, then left to do work on my other computer for a bit. When I came back, my screensaver was on and I cannot turn it off or get out of it. I tried closing the lid and reopening it, but with no prevail. Then I did the quick shutdown and then when I tried to restart it, it now gets stuck at the Grey screen with an Apple in the middle and a little rotating circle to the south of that. I cannot get past this screen. I tried to boot into Single User Mode and running fsck -y but I get a bunch of error messages. Is the best bet to reinstall or is there any way I can repair the system by the Open Terminal or Single User Boot? Let me know and thanks for your time. Tim Dorr Veteran Posted April 1, 2004 Veteran Share Posted April 1, 2004 What are those "bunch of error messages" that you get when booting into single user mode?
Chad
Start up your iBook from System Install Disc 1. In the File menu you'll see Disk Utilities. Run Disk First Aid to see if that fixes the problem. If it doesn't you may need to reinstall your System Holding the C key down when your ibook starts will boot from the cd
