Win XP keeps rebooting, please help

Tried the Hibernate function, XP froze up and had to cut off the power to reboot. Since then it is not possible to make the puter power off when Win. shut off. Keeeps rebooting instedad. Have tried reinstall,of course turning off Hibernate etc. but noth. helps. What can I do ? Hate to reformat... Can someone help me ? Thanks

do u mean when u shut down u get a BSOD and the machine auto reboot's ? this is the only instance i can think of when this would happen

Hi !

I have the same problem before, the problem with my computer was Roxio DirectCD 5.02.

If you have DirectCD try to remove It, restart your computer then try to turnoff again !
