fukachu
well on XP i have Chinese and English input and by pressing Alt + Shift i can switch between the 2 languages. i was wondering is there a way this can be done on mandrake 10. because at times i need to type Chinese, eg usernames on forums and chatting to some friends. basically what im looking for is a pin tin input device where i can type the pin yin of chinese and then select the character and then switch back to english right away. because i need to be able to swap between the 2 easily. thanx! MulletRobZ
This depends on what GUI you are using. In GNOME, you can right-click one of the panels and add an applet known as the Keyboard Layout, I think. But it is somewhere in there and you should be able to add any keyboard layout. In KDE, you have to go into the Control Centre and go to Internationalization or whatever it is called and around there you will be able to add that to KDE's panel. Both should have shortcuts in order to switch layouts. Hope that helps. ;)
