FatCat
I was directed to this forum and it has a great feature, that show ALL the posts in a thread right away, so you don't have to go through all the pages to find something for example, I think it very cool and usefull and would love it was implemnted here, with threads going in the 100's of pages, for people with broadband it takes a second to load. Click the Show ALL link next to the page numbers to see it in action. http://leovilletownsquare.com/ubbthreads/s...=&fpart=19&vc=
matt74441
The site is broken.
Wannes
it could be implemented but it should be an option and not a default setting.
Hawkeye
I believe IPB 2.0 has something like this in it, but I can't remember what it is called. I think it's an option in the AdminCP to make it available to users or not. Of course, until IPB 2.0 goes final, Neowin will be on IPB 1.3 (or possibly on IPB 1.3.1), which Matt released as a security update about a week ago now. Rell
Wouldn't showing all posts in a thread make the server loads higher?
Joel
Surely this can have the potential to KILL an overloaded server ??? If we had an overloaded server, I might agree. Also, if I knew that would make any difference at all. But our server is in good shape. Is this for all times or does it change depending on the load? Also, 40 posts a page??? Admit it, you have a giant 35-inch computer monitor to see all posts, right?? ;)

Fred Derf Veteran Posted April 7, 2004 Veteran Share Posted April 7, 2004 ,Apr 7 2004, 06:33] thanks MxxCon, didn't know we had this feature. Yea, I was stuck at 10 posts per page until a few weeks ago. 40 posts per page is what I would recommend to anyone on broadband.
Joel
The only downside is when I see that a thread has 3 pages, it's like 9 pages to everyone else and therefore really long. :p

....
I use 40 posts per page. Change your default. Me too...I hate sifting through pages....I'd be for an option like this. It could actually cut on server usage? Less flipping through pages and accessing the server? I could be wrong....
