Inertia
Hi guys, you can see my hardware in my Sig. ANy idea how I get Redhat 9.0 to install onto my Raptor`s Raid 0 array ? Any help apreciated. It picks up the drives individualy, but not as an array, and it wants to initialise their partition tables as seperate drives :(
markwolfe Veteran Posted April 10, 2004 Veteran Share Posted April 10, 2004 An "Out of the Box" RedHat 9 may have problems (though I am not certain). It is somewhat old, and RAID support gets better and better for a wider variety of hardware as Linux has developed. I have heard good things about RAID support on the 2.6 kernel. A quick (one entry) check on http://google.com/linux pointed me to the Hardware Comaptibility List (HCL) at LinuxQuestions.org here. However, it had no information if it was tested or not.. :( I would google a bit more, if I were you, and see if there is better info out there... [EDIT: http://www.linuxcompatible.org/cdetail11009.html shows a result where someone has verified that it seems to work, including RAID support]
aldo
Wait for Fedora Core 2. I'm running Test 2 and it's excellent. You won't be disapointed.
